Build with Wunderlist
Introducing our Public API
Like you, we use a lot of different apps to get our job done. Yet, it goes without saying that we live and breathe Wunderlist, from using it for bug tracking to helping us share our favourite lunchtime destinations. With Wunderlist being our go-to tool to track, manage and achieve as a team, we wanted to make it also connect and interact with all the other apps we use in a seamless and smart way. Today, we’re taking a big step towards making that possible with the release of our Public API.
Our vision for the API is to enable Wunderlist to participate in the growing interconnected network of applications. Working with some of our early pre-release partners, we’ve already seen how Wunderlist can be integrated into group chat tools like Slack and HipChat, as well as calendars with Sunrise, just to name a few.
The first time we saw our to-dos with due dates automatically show up in Sunrise was an exciting moment. So was the first time we commented on to-dos and saw the comment pop up in a Slack channel. More details on all these exciting integration to come soon! In the meantime let’s talk about how developers can get involved.
Building with Wunderlist is simple-just head on over to developer.wunderlist.com, log in to your Wunderlist account, and create credentials for your new application. The process works much like any other OAuth based app. Once you’ve done that, take a look at the API documentation on how to work with Wunderlist.
How does this affect you if you’re not a developer? Soon, you’ll be able to connect Wunderlist with your favorite applications so that you can get things done in an even smarter and more seamless way. We can’t wait for you to experience this and we’re excited to see what will come next. Are you going to be the one who thinks of ways to integrate with Wunderlist we couldn’t have anticipated? We’re eager to find out and will, of course, share the best of these new integrations here on the blog as they launch.
