Hipcamp is everywhere you want to camp. The only positive point was the location, very near to both the town canter and the Lake Tahoe attractions. This resort includes some cabins and a beach. There are excellent bike shops around that offer insider tips and rentals. The sites were wooded but very dusty. We camped at Camp Richardson Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The bathrooms are rustic but clean and bug-free, and the free shower had great water pressure. You can purchase this and other drinks while you're on the one and a half hour cruise. Dirt roads through pines to fairly tightly packed sites, but you can't beat the location right across from Lake Tahoe and along a great bike path.
